Gospel to Matthew 18,21-35

Bấy giờ, ông Phê-rô đến gần Đức Giê-su mà hỏi rằng: "Thưa Thầy, nếu anh em con cứ xúc phạm đến con, thì con phải tha đến mấy lần? Có phải bảy lần không? "

In jener Zeit trat Petrus zu Jesus und fragte: Herr, wie oft muss ich meinem Bruder vergeben, wenn er sich gegen mich versündigt? Sieben Mal?

At that time,Then Peter came and said to him, Lord, what number of times may my brother do wrong against me, and I give him forgiveness? till seven times?

Đức Giê-su đáp: "Thầy không bảo là đến bảy lần, nhưng là đến bảy mươi lần bảy."

Jesus sagte zu ihm: Nicht siebenmal, sondern siebenundsiebzigmal.

Jesus says to him, I say not to you, Till seven times; but, Till seventy times seven.

Vì thế, Nước Trời cũng giống như chuyện một ông vua kia muốn đòi các đầy tớ của mình thanh toán sổ sách.

Mit dem Himmelreich ist es deshalb wie mit einem König, der beschloss, von seinen Dienern Rechenschaft zu verlangen.

For this reason the kingdom of heaven is like a king, who went over his accounts with his servants.

Khi nhà vua vừa bắt đầu, thì người ta dẫn đến một kẻ mắc nợ vua mười ngàn yến vàng.

Als er nun mit der Abrechnung begann, brachte man einen zu ihm, der ihm zehntausend Talente schuldig war.

And at the start, one came to him who was in his debt for ten thousand talents.

Y không có gì để trả, nên tôn chủ ra lệnh bán y cùng tất cả vợ con, tài sản mà trả nợ.

Weil er aber das Geld nicht zurückzahlen konnte, befahl der Herr, ihn mit Frau und Kindern und allem, was er besaß, zu verkaufen und so die Schuld zu begleichen.

And because he was not able to make payment, his lord gave orders for him, and his wife, and his sons and daughters, and all he had, to be given for money, and payment to be made.

Bấy giờ, tên đầy tớ ấy sấp mình xuống bái lạy: "Thưa Ngài, xin rộng lòng hoãn lại cho tôi, tôi sẽ lo trả hết."

Da fiel der Diener vor ihm auf die Knie und bat: Hab Geduld mit mir! Ich werde dir alles zurückzahlen.

So the servant went down on his face and gave him worship, saying, Lord, give me time to make payment and I will give you all.

Tôn chủ của tên đầy tớ ấy liền chạnh lòng thương, cho y về và tha luôn món nợ.

Der Herr hatte Mitleid mit dem Diener, ließ ihn gehen und schenkte ihm die Schuld.

And the lord of that servant, being moved with pity, let him go, and made him free of the debt.

Nhưng vừa ra đến ngoài, tên đầy tớ ấy gặp một người đồng bạn, mắc nợ y một trăm quan tiền. Y liền túm lấy, bóp cổ mà bảo: "Trả nợ cho tao! "

Als nun der Diener hinausging, traf er einen anderen Diener seines Herrn, der ihm hundert Denare schuldig war. Er packte ihn, würgte ihn und rief: Bezahl, was du mir schuldig bist!

But that servant went out, and meeting one of the other servants, who was in debt to him for one hundred pence, he took him by the throat, saying, Make payment of your debt.

Bấy giờ, người đồng bạn sấp mình xuống năn nỉ: "Thưa anh, xin rộng lòng hoãn lại cho tôi, tôi sẽ lo trả anh."

Da fiel der andere vor ihm nieder und flehte: Hab Geduld mit mir! Ich werde es dir zurückzahlen.

So that servant went down on his face, requesting him and saying, Give me time and I will make payment to you.

Nhưng y không chịu, cứ tống anh ta vào ngục cho đến khi trả xong nợ.

Er aber wollte nicht, sondern ging weg und ließ ihn ins Gefängnis werfen, bis er die Schuld bezahlt hatte.

And he would not: but went and put him into prison till he had made payment of the debt.

Thấy sự việc xảy ra như vậy, các đồng bạn của y buồn lắm, mới đi trình bày với tôn chủ đầu đuôi câu chuyện.

Als die übrigen Diener das sahen, waren sie sehr betrübt; sie gingen zu ihrem Herrn und berichteten ihm alles, was geschehen war.

So when the other servants saw what was done they were very sad, and came and gave word to their lord of what had been done.

Bấy giờ, tôn chủ cho đòi y đến và bảo: "Tên đầy tớ độc ác kia, ta đã tha hết số nợ ấy cho ngươi, vì ngươi đã van xin ta,

Da ließ ihn sein Herr rufen und sagte zu ihm: Du elender Diener! Deine ganze Schuld habe ich dir erlassen, weil du mich so angefleht hast.

Then his lord sent for him and said, You evil servant; I made you free of all that debt, because of your request to me:

thì đến lượt ngươi, ngươi không phải thương xót đồng bạn, như chính ta đã thương xót ngươi sao?

Hättest nicht auch du mit jenem, der gemeinsam mit dir in meinem Dienst steht, Erbarmen haben müssen, so wie ich mit dir Erbarmen hatte?

Was it not right for you to have mercy on the other servant, even as I had mercy on you?

Rồi tôn chủ nổi cơn thịnh nộ, trao y cho lính hành hạ, cho đến ngày y trả hết nợ cho ông.

Und in seinem Zorn übergab ihn der Herr den Folterknechten, bis er die ganze Schuld bezahlt habe.

And his lord was very angry, and put him in the hands of those who would give him punishment till he made payment of all the debt.

Ấy vậy, Cha của Thầy ở trên trời cũng sẽ đối xử với anh em như thế, nếu mỗi người trong anh em không hết lòng tha thứ cho anh em mình."

Ebenso wird mein himmlischer Vater jeden von euch behandeln, der seinem Bruder nicht von ganzem Herzen vergibt.

So will my Father in heaven do to you, if you do not everyone, from your hearts, give forgiveness to his brother.
